The world’s leading manufacturer of electrical distribution transformers, located in the South Laurel Industrial Park in Laurel, MS is searching for a distribution transformer design engineer. Candidates must a bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Experience as an Electrical or mechanical Engineer in transformer design would be a plus. Duties include applying Engineering principles to improve efficiency and quality of design for manufacturing process of single phase pad mounted transformers.

This position utilizes engineering and design software to design, implement, maintain, and improves commercial and industrial electrical transformers and other distribution and power products, and components, including Windings, Active part, Cleats & Leads and Tank design. Confers with other design engineers, customers and vendors, and performs detailed calculations and computations to plan and implement research methodology and procedures, and to prepare specifications for materials, software and equipment. Supervises and trains subordinate designers and drafters. Investigates and tests vendors' and competitors' products, technologies, engineering studies and general practices. Must have experience in project management and team supervision; ability to develop and document technical instructions and transformer design rules according to industry standards. Requirements: Four (4) years experience in job offered or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and two years of experience in job offered.
